Swamper,
These Myrmeco-whatevers used to be classified as a Schomburgkia. I purchased mine from an Ebay vendor. It was listed and tagged as a Schom. thompsoniana but after researching I found that the flower on what I purchased doesn't match most descriptions but it does match a few. This leaves me a little bewildered. I truly wonder if mine is a hybrid.
There are different species and hybrids, different colors...some big, and some small. Try searching Schomburgkia and then try the new classification Myrmecophila or Myrmecophilia (I've seen the name spelled both ways). They're commonly referred to as cigar orchids too. Good luck!
