This is one of the few complex hybrids that I own and one of my favorites. This Catt has become a staple at our local shows here in Hawaii and is seen many times in every display set up by the various clubs. Needless to say this hybrid has a lot of variability and it can be really nice or go horribly wrong. I had a really hard time getting the colors right in this one, and I'm pretty sure I did not get even close. The labellum is a very vivid, dark pink and the influence of the bifoliate Catts is very obvious in this one. It almost resembles a giant schillerana.

What's in this one's background, Steve (other than, I'm assuming from your comments, C. schilleriana)? It's a really pretty bloom.

Thanks guys! I encourage you to look up this plant online because my pics really don't do it justice.

Steve, According to OW, the background is C. schilleriana (50%), C. aclandiae, C. granulosa, C. guttata (each at 12.5%), C. mossiae, L. purpurata (each at 3.9%) C. dowiana (2.7%), C. warscewiczii (1.6%) and L. xanthina (0.4%). VERY complex hybrid!

I can (or at least I think I can) see the influence from schilleriana, aclandiae, granuloa and guttata. But I'm lost as far as the unifoliates are concerned. Still, it's an amazingly beautiful little plant. And I've been very successful at avoiding (with the notable exception of C. Mrs. Mahler) cattleya hybrids until now!
