they are not equal, and neither one still exists.
Leonara = Cattleya x Guarianthe x Rhyncholaelia x Sophronitis
(since all the Sophronitis species have been reclassified, no plants are still considered Leonara)

Iwanagara = Diacrium x Brassavola x Laelia x Cattleya
(since all the Diacrium species have been reclassified, no plants are still considered Iwanagara)

I assume the plant you're asking about is Jackfowlieara Appleblossom (Caulaelia Snowflake x Rhyncattleanthe Orange Nuggett)

Kip got it right. Iwanagaara and Leonara are no longer valid names. Appleblossom is one popular hybrid that was originally Iwanagaara and then Leonara, but is now Jackfowlieara due to changing names and definitions of the genera involved. But not all Iwanagaara became Leonara or Jackfowlieara becasue of changing classifications of what plants are called Laelia, Cattleya, etc.

http://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/Plant-s...ration/Orchids is one place to look up orchid registrations, genera names etc. The Royal Horticultural Society is the ultimate authority for orchid hybrid registration.
