I know there is a film out called Adaptation (I've seen it) and there have been some documentaries, but why haven't the British made an adventure type historical movie about the orchid "craze"? After all, the British started all this LOL.
I think it could be a great movie!
All the intrigue and danger....set in the Victorian era.
Why not?
I dont know enough to know who would play the starring roles but there are plenty of great British actors out there.
Anyone have any ideas about this? Just for fun, I'd like to hear what people think.

Actually, the orchid craze dates back way before then. I am currently reading A History Of The Orchid by Merle A. Reinikka published in 1972.
The greeks named the Orchid Family somewhere "between 370 and 285 B.C."! I did come across one error though about how Cattleyas came to England. Seems this book perpetuates the myth that Chadwick dispelled in his book about the plant being packing material.
Don't ya just LOVE this stuff??
I would pay to see such a movie...esp in 3D
