Default Epidendrum flower!!!!!

I got this about a year ago and It surprised me a few a weeks ago with a spike on it!!!!!! WOOT!! Another spike is coming out of an old growth as well!! There are so many things spiking now. It is really exciting!:bigg rin:: biggrin:

Great bloom! Amazing color.

How big is the bloom? It's hard to tell from the close up.

Paula: I am not sure, i got it at sheridan nurseries. I had someone tell me it was prbably a Epidendrum radicans hybrid.

jropad: The bloom is only about 2 cm long

Looks very similar in shape to my Epid. ibaguense- you can see it on my thread in this section. Got 18 buds open- due for another photo shoot!
Lovely flower- they're stunning when the spike is in full bloom. And such tough plants! Great job.

This may help -- from the Paramount Orchids site:

Epid radicans has roots growing along the upright stem whereas epid ibaguense does not.

yUP actually mine has some roots growing along the stem......but I am pretty sure that it is a hybrid and not a species
