Hi! I use plastic but the clay pots are better, because they allow the water to evaporate and the risk of root rot is diminished. I'll change for clay when they need re-potting, maybe next year.

I like using plastic pots. The are easier to remove the plants from when repotting. For a well grown plant in clay you pretty much will have to shatter the pot to get them out. With plastics I have experienced less root damage as well during repotting.

Oh, yes, easy to repot. But after you almost kill 2 catts because the media is always wet, you really want to smash some clay pots

hehe - yeah - I do better with clay pots for Catt types. Tho I did recently lose some root tips removing one from a clay pot.

Depends on the plant and your growing conditions- there's not really a "magic pot". Except if you're growing in Semihydroponics, maybe.

Just wanted to say- I've had a lot of luck with clay pots for Catt alliances in my dry, intermediate conditions.
Clay pots breathe much better, and allow the media to dry more efficiently between waterings- which Catt's generally prefer.

yes, it really depends on what works best for the individual. I do have one Catt type in a ceramic orchid pot. One potted in bark in a plastic pot, and a few potted in pumice in plastic pots. But MOST are in clay pots.
