What species,or hybrid is the giant red one? How big is this flower?
|
That big red is Blc. Chia Lin 'Biorchids'. I can't tell you now how large is the flower, but be sure it is a big flower!

Sheridan, almost all of my Cattleyas are planted in clay pots filled with sphagnum mixed with peanuts of white Styrofoam scratched from larger pieces (in a proportion of 70% sphag, 30% Styrofoam). I tested s/h and honestly didn't like much, but I know it works well for several species. Cattleyas like to be mounted, but in this case high air humidity is very important

You don't need to win the lottery, James! I didn't, but it took me 30 years to amass something like that LOL!!!

It's no wonder you always have so many great catts to show, so much hard work must go in to keeping those looking good.
I need more space! Actually what I need in the shorter term is to get proper shelves in my greenhouse... then I can fill them

Mauro your collection is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I for one don't have much blooming right now and pictures will at least help me get thru the lull. Only problem is that in the meantime I add more to my "Wish List"
