I have a blc. owen holmes 'mendenhall'. It has 6 growths on it and the roots appear to be crowded (there are quite a few on top). It has not bloomed yet, the newest growth is red tinged and hasn't finished growing yet. I keep it in an eastern exposure where it gets several hours of good morning sun. What can I do to get this thing to bloom? I would appreciate yourworth
This one is normally a Fall bloomer. Nursery grown plants of this type are usually blooming size in 6" pots. I would say your plant is probably 6 months to two years away from blooming. If it produces a flower sheath it may bloom this Fall. If not then I would expect something within a couple of years as long as it gets enough light. I am not so sue that an East window is enough though. Usually unfiltered west or slightly filtered south windows are best with the plant sitting on the window sill.
