One that I could potentially do well with growing and blooming using windowsill and/or lighting culture.

C. intermedia. hands down. Stays small, puts up with a whole lot of mistakes.

C. luteola and any hybrids therefrom. Any hybrid of Broughtonia sanguinea will be a compact plant but have rather tall spikes. The rupiculous laelias (briegeri, milleri, etc), Cattleya walkeriana and hybrids of Sophrinitis coccinea and wittigiana, etc (if you can provide a coolish environment).

forgot to say, I've heard of a lot of intermedias doing well in windowsill culture. mine loves it's south window in the winter.

They're definitely small enough to fit on a windowsill without a problem.

They're not very difficult to grow either.

Look they aren't hard to grow alright...

You don't need alot of experience growing them. Minimal is good enough. They're pretty standard growing. Shouldn't be kept too cool. Can take it pretty warm, but intermediate is best.

L. alaorii grows in partial sun. Don't need to blast them with light for them to thrive. I think that's easy enough right?
