Yes it is in the cattleya alliance. I am not sure what it is though

From the shape of the flower, I'd say an Epicattleya...certainly there is Encyclia in the make-up, along with Cattleya, but there might be Laelia, Sophronitis or even Brassovola there as well!

I can't help you with ID, but I can confirm that it is a cattleya or a hybrid with cattleya in it. Lovely colour!

Todd, Im sure you are right on at least one of those guesses.
Very beautiful color though!!! Sometimes getting an ID on your NOID is half the fun.

Hi All, thanks for the quick clarification. Your all are great. There alots for me to learn.
