This is the first C. mossiae in my collection that's bloomed this year. It's also the first time that this particular plant has bloomed. It's still a young plant, and although the shape of the blooms isn't great, it at least has the nice mossiae scent. Does anyone know if cattleya blooms improve (as far as shape and size go) as a plant becomes more mature?
Hi, from what I have seen and read on this forum, yes they do. Ofcourse there is always the possibility that your plant can't do any better do to genetic defects. Still I doubt that being the case. In any case, you got a nice flower.

I am still a beginner, but my catts shape get better after a few days from blooming. I don't know if your picture was taken very soon after the flower opened. Wait and see. A day or an year...
