Cattleya tenuis is a Brazilian bifoliate species native of the northeast Brazil. The slender stems can be as high as 70 cm, or more. The flowers are similar to those of C. bicolor, except for the lip with two well developed side lobes embracing the column, that do not exist in pure C. bicolor.
