Slc. Tangerine Jewel 'Magnifique' 4n x Slc Cosmic Delite 'SVO' HCC/AOS
This plant has so much Sophronitis in it's background that I am surprised at how well it does in the Florida heat. This is a seedling that I purchased from Sunset Valley Orchids and is blooming for the first time. Discounting the fact that the petals were damaged when still in bud, it turned out to be a real nice flower. It grows in a three inch pot and it has three more new growths maturing. It seems to be quite prolific.
With the name changes that were made, Sophronitis has became Cattleya but if I said that this plant has so much Cattleya in it's background that I am surprised at how well it does etc. no one would know of what I was speaking. I think the name changes have caused more problems than we realize.
