Default Encyclia megalantha var. aurea

The accepted name is now Encyclia advena.
This is a Brazilian species that comes from the northeastern region. The typical, very fragrant flowers, are really showy with broad petals and lips.
The aurea variety shown here is of a wonderful golden-yellow that really catches the attention. One of the photos shows the type and aurea together for evaluation of the changes occurred in this variety.

Mauro, I am very interested in getting the aurea variety. I am also dedicated Encyclia collector. Do you have any suggestions? I am in Florida.

You can try Florália (Brazilian Orchids from Florália). They regularly attend shows in the USA. Perhaps, if you speak to them, they can bring you one of these (the plant is not on their catalog, but they know where to find one here).

Really nice, I love that aurea variety. Great to see the comparison shot as well.

I like it. It looks a little bit like tampensis. I hadn't heard of this species until now.
