Mauro
Thanks for sharing this exceptional flower. I don't recall having seen any of its hybrids that inherited its wild beauty.
Congratulations for having found the the optimal culture for this finicky species.

Rosim.
Nice bloom.
But I have a question concerning the lip color. Is the photo color true on the lip. Yours seems to be more toward purple with the yellow striping. All of ours & others I have seen have lips that are more toward dark magenta, with the same yellow striping. (the same magenta tones as the rosita dowiana lip). Perhaps it is because ours bloom when it is 85 F, with very bright sunlight.

The lip color in the photo is basically correct, Catwalker, perhaps a bit lighter than the true flower color. My camera broke, so this shot was taken with a common point-and-shoot camera that didn't allow me any control (you can see that the yellow in the petals is washed). I decided to post this, despite de washed petals, because it favors the yellow stripes on the lip.
But here you have a photo with what I consider a more faithful capture of the lip color.

Absolutely beautiful, Mauro. If you get a chance, would you mind posting a picture of the entire plant, please?

Beautiful example of an amazing species, Mauro. Yet another one that is just too big to be practical to grow under lights on a shelf, though.
