It stands to reason that they must share the same one, from what I can find out the mess with purpurata is being sorted out now, so in the near furture it will have one name only ( I hope ) and this will have a very big effect on the names of a lot of hybrids.

Warren, I read very recently that L. purpurata is destined to become a Cattleya in the near future. I can live with that. Lp seems to have more in common with Brasilian Cattleya than Mexican Laelia.
That's the word going around, that will mean a hell of a lot of name changes, but when all the dust settles it should be a lot easyer to follow, here hoping so anyhow.
