Default B. Kiilani Stars, wonderful scent

B. Kiilani Stars ( Little stars x perinni)

I could not be happier with the fragrance, predominantly rosy-floral. No chemical undertones that can be unpleasant with other brassavola. The bottom notes on this one remind me of Acidanthera, which is also called the Peacock orchid.

It took two years to switch its program to growing good water roots as you can see in the second photo. Another division, more than twice the size of this one with lots of healthy roots, placed in lecca, in passive hydro, has only put out dry sheets. I was ready to give away the whole lot of them to someone with better light and humidity until I smelled this flower.

It's beautiful! Sounds like this one likes water culture, if it took a little while to adjust.

Sadly, I still haven't gotten blooms out of the Sunset Glory you sent me. I had it in a south-facing window all summer with 70 to 80 degrees F with a 5 to 10 degree drop at night. It's grown 2 new growths. It would have been 3 but one broke off when I was having some technical difficulties. My other water culture plants are doing ok, except one of the Leptotes seedling's new growth rotted. The other one put out a small new leaf right after that though. Everything is putting on a flush of new root growth at the moment. I hope eventually that I get this figured out like you have.
