Laelia purpurata var. carnea Display
Here's a nice display using my carneas in bloom, completed (below, center) with the 'alba' of Veitch - also known as var. schroederae of Rchb.f.

Laelia purpurata var. carnea
How I love all the various color varieties!!! Just purchased Lou Menezes book on L. Purpurata La Rainha and am awaiting it's arrival. Where do you obtain your plants...are you aquainted with Carlos Gomes? I would love to obtain plants from him, but unfortunately he tells me that he does not sell directly to the US. So I've been obtaining my plants, mostly seedlings, here and there from US vendors, primarily Tropical Orchid Farm and a couple from Kawamoto - here's what I have so far (we'll see how I do as I grow in a heated south facing sunroom which is attached to my apartment.) var. carnea 'Haiku Kiss' x 'Exotic'; var. semi-alba x sib; var. werkauserii; purpurata 'Haiku Beauty x self'; 'Millionaria Do Seara' x self; 'Sao Jorge' x self; 2 seedlings of var. coerulea x var. schusteriana; var. anelata 'Adams' x self; var. ardosia x self and a division of var. flammea 'Red Wings'.

Yes, Carlos Gomes has been doing a fine work on purpuratas (and also on leopoldiis). He has several state of art crosses of purpuratas, but unfortunately he does not export. Some of my plants came from his nursery. Some plants you mention you grow are classic purpuratas, like var. anelata 'Adams', 'Milionária do Seara' (not 'Milionária', the famous estriata of so many good offspring), var. bispo 'São Jorge'. You chose some very nice color variations!
A possible way for you to expand your possibilities with this species is maybe trying Florália and/or Bela Vista. These two Brazilian nurseries sell plants at some USA Orchid shows (like Redlands for example). If you tell them what you want 40-50 days before the show they will attend, they can legally bring you what you want (assuming they will have/find what you want!). Maybe you'd like to talk with them.

Well I just ordered some more purpuratas, and it's all your fault! There is a company (Orchid Trail) in North Carolina that imports from Floralia and Bela Vista - I'd sent them a want list back in September but had procrastinated about placing an order. Then you go and post all those pictures of purpuratas...well what can I say...the devil Rosim made me do it! Here's are the purpuratas I purchased: aco 'Brissiano' x self; estriata 'Doraci' x self; alba x delicata; 'Roxo-bispo' x ;
'Rio do Sul' x schusteriana. I also sent them links to websites of Carlos Gomes and Ricsel Orchids (which I believe carries crosses from Carlos and does export to the US), hopefully the owner of Orchid Trail will bring in some plants (and then I could buy them, aren't I devious?)

What a great shot Mauro.
I like that you included the 'alba' of Veitch. As I said on one of your other threads, it almost seems to me like it is just the palest extent of carnea.
I love them, purpurata is a gorgeous orchid.
