I remember that in my early orchid days in the 80's, adding one of these to the collection was really a trouble. To my knowledge, only one concolor has been found in the 50's, if my memory serves me well, the famous L. lobata var. concolor 'Jeni'. Until the 80's, getting a piece of this clone was a hard job. Later, it was selfed and the progeny was faithful to the mother color pattern spreading the variety, which became common. The plant seen on the tree is in my back yard and is not the original 'Jeni', but its daughter.
