This is a first bloom seedling that is very disappointing but I will keep it until it blooms again to see if it might improve. The flower color is not bad but the form is terrible. Most of these crosses were coming out round and full with a lot of white in both the lip and petals, according to the grower. Looks like I got one of the bad ones.

That is why I like species. Too much fluff ends up sagging often.
You could cut it and when you go to some dinner you bring it to the host.
better than those cut flower Dendrobiums artificially spray painted blue!

Sorry Jerry...
I can feel your disappointment.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that it blooms rounder and fuller for you next time!

In the processing of searching for a picture of this plant, I stumbled upon a more recent one that is a big improvement in flower quality. What is the old cliche, "Some things get better with age." I believe it applies here.

Hardly looks like the same plant! How many bloom seasons did it take to arrive at the much improved look?

The first picture was taken in 2009 and the second in 2011. I don't remember what the flowers looked like between that period.
