Bc. maikai
This was a bagged plant (Better-Gro) that I purchased at WalMart several years ago and it just continues to grow, (more than) doubled in size since getting it. I think I paid around $10. After this bloom, it get's another re-pot....no dividing. This ususally blooms for me around December. It's loaded with spikes, at least 10 last count. Wish it would bloom all at once but I'm not complaining, I get to enjoy it longer this way. Have it potted in Hydroton, all my Catts and Brassovolas do best in this. It's the one plant I can't kill, which I've done plenty of with others, especially this past summer. For some reason, this one loves me.
Thanks for looking!

great - they dont have this bagged anymore.
Do you grow in S/H or hydroton in traditional pots? do you have photos of the whole plant? and photos now and then?

Check at Home Depot and Lowes. I've seen them there as well.
I don't have photos of it when I first bought it but it was tiny compared to now. It's more than doubled in size, these are prolific growers, water it twice a week, average. It's now in a 6" pot and beginning to tip from all the growth over the past year, in Hydroton with regular potting. (I have the pot in a larger pot with styrofoam to keep it from wobbling and tipping over).
Here's a pic of the whole plant....

great. well here Lowes is the only store that carries bagged ones but they have a very limited selection.
Anyway I am interestded in the Hydroton traditional potting. when you water do you let the pit soak in a bucket of water? if so how long?
Hydroton may take longer to get soaked than trad bark. doesnt it dry fast?

Just thought I'd update what's going on with my Bc. Makai....that almost lost it's life last week. It's loaded with spikes and buds, about to burst. It'll be fun to see this thread next year when I anticipate, triple the spikes! none the first 2 years, 3 last year, 10 (minus the one I lost) this year.
The last pic is of the older blooms. Thought it was kind of pretty, faded.
