Default Lc. Genoteta Bolcera ? (Chia Ling New City X Tripp Johnson)

I bought this one from Rozanski's last year and though he gave the parentage on it, it doesn't really resemble either parent...
I am posting photos from the first 3 days, so that you can see the color change that takes place.

Wow, are you saying it changes colour from the pale to the purple!

It's gorgeous in all three colours!

Yep, it starts out pale and then goes mauve and then pink! Rather unusual in that it happens in 3 days.

That's a cool colour change. I was just showing my hubby the pics because I think it's quite amazing.

I love the color change, only problem is Lc. Genoteta Bolcera doesn't show up in any search's, it's not in the RHS.

Yes, I know! Mr Rozanski has a knack for naming things but never registering them! I also have another cattleya cross that he named Blue Madonna (which also never was registered) and I have no idea of the parentage on that one!
When I bought this one (I actually bought 2 of them, the second hasn't ever bloomed yet for me ) I asked if he had any Tripp Johnson, and he said no but I have this awesome cross and given the 2 parents, I presumed that it would be darkly colored with lots of spots! As you can see...I got neither in this flower.
So, as exciting as the color change is, it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Your plant is a unregistered hybrid of Blc. Chia Lin 'New City' AM/AOS crossed with C. Tripp Johnston.

The term 'genoteta' may refer to a mutation of the 'tetA' gene. I haven't got a clue about 'Bolcera'

Anyway, it's an interesting cross.

Keep in mind on the name, that he hand wrote the tag, so I could be completely off base on my deciphering skills!
I am really begining to wonder if he was right about either parent, as I am having a hard time seeing anything in this cross that leads me to believe it! LOL
