First-flowering seedling. Easy to grow and hardy, this plant has proven very adaptable. I grow it fairly shady for most of the year, where it takes phalaenopsis light levels (a bit higher light in during the winter dormancy is acceptable). It also gets watered a lot during the summer growing season, followed by a fairly strict winter dry period while it's resting. The plant is less than three inches tall, and the flower is large for the plant size. It's only been open two days, so it might flatten out a bit more (but maybe it won't; I think this one's shape is pretty typical for the species). It's also developing a slight fragrance. It's growing in Aliflor (the brand name for an expanded clay aggragate) with lots of styrofoam peanuts in the bottom half of the pot to assist drainage.
