It's a division of a violacea. Anyway, here's a picture of the flowers. They are about 5" (13cm) each. Besides the flower size, the size and shape of the leaves are amazing.
wow... a fantastic C. violacea... very very nice one!!

I have seen hundreds of unrelated violacea plants, and I have only ever seen one other that looked like this (it wasn't this clone though). Felt like it was made of plastic or wax

The Baton Rouge orchid society has a portion of their show that awards fragrance (I think day and night separately) that is for their members only (they are sooooo insensitive). The first time I saw a C. violacea in the flesh, it also won a fragrance award at this show. A spectacular plant grown by Ervin Granier, it was truly breathtaking.
I'm not much of a cattleya fan, but this is an arresting and lovely flower.
Regards - Nancy

March ... June ... September ... and November ... whenever it puts out one or 2 new growths. Unless I divide.

Another reason I love violacea so much. They bloom more often than any other catt species I can think of.
