Concolor is the Latin word for 'having the same color'. The lips in the Cattleya labiate alliance (C. warneri, labiata, lueddemanniana, mossiae etc) are of a different color compared to the rest of the flower, purple in general. When a mutation occurs and the lip has the same color of the rest of the flower it is said concolor
