Hi Doc, is the colour true in your thread? I recently bought one labelled "Epi morning star" but my colour is slightly lighter. Mine even has the fork in the 'tail' on the labellum. My flowers are 1 1/2"x 2" (40mm x 50mm)
I think the colors are most true in the close-up of the flower. When they first opened, each flower was a little darker, closer to red. By day 2 they had lightened to a light orange color.
I would be interested in seeing what "morningstar" looks like if you could post a picture.
No can do with a picture Doc. I have proved digital cameras don't like rough treatment. As a result, my camera and my computer aren't 'talking'.
If you can imagine the common old orange coloured reed stem Epi (radicans?) on steroids, that's what 'morning star' looks like.
