Default New bloom

Now that this Brassavola Cattleya is starting to Bloom. Is there any thing I have to do to keep it looking healthy? I water it every 12 to 14 days, by completely soaking it in the sink, mist twice daily and fertilize weekly. I have been using Better Grow Bloom Booster 11-35-15. And last but not least it is in a west-south-west window.

Lovely thats its going to bloom..but whats going on below it?
That spooky black soft sluge spot makes me nervous. How big is that area, and is it spreading? Have you treated it for anything?

Default Spot

The spot is not soft and has been there when the plant was smaller. If I was to treat it what would I use. It looks like a scrape. Thank you for your reply

If it's not soft thats a good sign. I also have a Catt that has a scrape similar but it isn't black. It's white and I can see the fibourse inside of the bulb It's the blackness that worried me. If I were you I'd watch it to make sure it does not get larger. If it's an open wound though I would treat it with Physan 20 or something similar due to the color. I wouldn't risk it if it turns out to be a bacterial infection. Although maybe someone else has a better answer
