Cattleya forbesii
First blooming for me
A really nice compact grower with large subtle-coloured flowers. ( Whole plant shot)

Hi Calvin - yep, it sure is pretty!
I've grown this plant for several years (on a wood slab), and it doesn't seem to have a particular 'season' for blooming, like many Catt. species. Just seems to make a new growth, bloom, and start growing again.
I do like its small habit. Also unlike a lot of the giant honking hybrids. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Regards - Nancy

Very nice, Calvin. I really like that blood red detail on the lip.

Good photos. The lip of your C. forbesii is pretty, too.

Thanks for viewing everyone! Yes it's a small little guy and it seems to be producing new growth after new growth, which really makes me happy.
Rosie the lip is really nice - pity it's all curled up in that white column.

Yeah, I wondered about the second pic, did you hold it open in some way?
