Default Cattleya amethystoglossa

This is a selfing of an aurea that didn't repeat the variety getting back to the type.

Rosim. Nice flowers. Too bad about losing the aurea. Usually if it came out of a general population, the yellow would be recessive and revert to the type. When you say aurea, I assume yellow sepals and petals, but with the purple lip. Did you have any purple spots on petals?

I have a well shaped yellow with purple lip and purple spots. I never bred with it because I figured the offspring would revert to the typical color and lose the yellow ... and we have other better shaped type color flowers for breeding.
