I once had a Four o clok plant in my yard like that one half of the plant made yellow blooms the other half made red blooms ....The very center lead made blooms half yellow on one side and half red on the other

How cool to see it in a orchid...does this only happen on one lead or on all of them?

Something similar happens in citrus trees and is where some of the old varieties came from.
Part of a tree would produce a different fruit which was referred to as a 'sport'.
