Question Question about BLC

I have a question about a couple of BLCs. I got these plants as seedlings about 3 years ago. This year they have sent out bloom sheaths. Now, I read some where that you should clip the tip of the sheath off so that moisture wouldn't get inside and rot the blooms. Is this true? They are vacationing outside all summer and they get rained on as well as water from the hose. Thanks for any information on this.

The only time I mess with the sheaths at all is if they do not seem to be opening on their own as the buds grow.

Under the condition you described, by snipping the sheaths, you would be creating a water trap and probably lose every bud.

ditto ray...leave the sheaths alone, they are there to protect the buds, the plant knows what to do best....

I leave mine alone too.

No one goes through the jungles in their native habitat clipping sheaths, so I assume thry're fine without it.
