Cattleya jenmanii 'Serra Negra'
Here's one of my best C. jenmanii. The species is closely related to C. labiata, but has not been subject to the same improvement breeding program through selective crosses as the first was in the past and continues to be. So, it is not easy finding flowers like this, with natural spread of 16-17 cm, petals as broad as 6 cm and a large, solid purple lip. The fragrance is not the same as in C. labiata, but sometimes one note seems to remember it (at least to me!)

That is a relly a good Jenmainii, I am not sure but it can be considered as rubra too.

I believe it should be a little darker to be considered rubra, Bruno. But, it is close to! |

You have nice Cattleya species there in the States too, Cattleya17. OB is a great place and has many friends who really can help finding fine clones in the USA. Just ask and you will see that someone will always come up with a hint  |
