I haven't smelled it this year and I can't remember what it was like from last year. I'll let you know tonite.

Nice job of growing, Steve. How about posting a picture of the plant in the basket. That would be interesting to see.

Hmmmm..... the smell was faint and was kinda cheesy. Not pleasant but not nice either, almost Bulbo-ish. I'll try again tomorrow.

Mel,
Its a small basket, maybe 4" across. Originally I had this one mounted on a peice of wood, but insects ate through it and it became weak and rotten. I took off as much wood as I could and then just zip tied it to the inside of the basket. Works great!

P.S. As you can see, I use this basket to hang other baskets and mounts from too! Thats why I didn't move it to get better pics. Plus it was raining on me so I just took some quick shots.

Its cucullata with 2 L's and 2 C's. At least that's how OrchidWiz has it!

Thanks for posting those pictures, Steve. It looks like you are growing your plants under jungle conditions.

lol Yup. Until I get my own place and set up a shadehouse, I have to use the local vegetation as my plants sun block. 'Jungle conditions' for me!
