I appreciate reminders about the new nomenclature. I tried to get a feel of what everyone was going to do and the consensus is that everyone was going to ignore them. I like trying to at least keep track of the new names so when they change again I will understand the transition better. If you want to register a hybrid, you better get used to the new names.
I also understand the reasoning for those that resist the new changes. As far as I am concerned, the choice is yours. As long as we all know which particular plant we're talking about at any given time, I think we'll be ok until they
do change again. I think the angst comes from those who may be unfamiliar with the change - it is still fairly recent. The problem is that the topic evokes lots of emotion from veteran many growers, and is unnoticed by the newbies. With time we'll all get used to it - then they'll change again!
