That's what I'm talking about! Nice.

I like the white picotee on the lip. Spots are nice too, and the color - I don't even know what to say. Awesome.

Yours too, Virgil. I love seeing the variation.

My C. bicolor v. albina x self is opening right now. Jasen, this is the one you picked up for me. Is yours from the same batch? Although it's not fully opened, I can already tell that it does have some visible side lobes, a pure white column, and a dark purple lip with a white margin. I was really hoping for a pure alba, but I'm still pretty excited. It looks pretty nice so far. I'll post pics once it stretches out a bit.

Yep, it's from the same batch. You know how crosses are, there's no guarantee that an alba selfing will come out colorless (it's like pot luck). Sometimes they revert back to the original....damn genes! As much as orchids have evolved over the years, and as many different variations that are created of a species....I find it really hard to discount an orchid as a particular species just because it did something as miniscule as grow sidelobes, especially with the frequency that I have seen this. Lobes or not, I really think they're bicolors, but that's just my opinion. Next time I go by there, I'll grab another one and send you a division....It's not like I have to pay $140, or something! I'll get two!
So it's a semi-alba? Or is it to early to tell the petal color?
Oh yeah, I just harvested an Epi. schomburgkii seed pod (spontaneous), I have two more coming...so I was just going to send you the whole pod. It's almost definitely a selfing, cuz it was pollinated by little black ants....they were all over it. Trade the rest if you want, I got way more than I need. Also, I just harvested Den. atroviolaceum 'pygmy' x self, B. nodosa x self, Phaius tankervilliae x self, C. labiata x self, C. intermedia var orlata x self, Epi. stamfordianum x self, and I bought some Bulbo. macranthum seeds from Thailand.

Here's mine, with and without the flash. There is a slight veining in the petals. It'll be neat to see how they change over time. Pretty darn cool.

Niiiiiiiiice. Definitely not alba, but nice nevertheless. Next time I go there, I'll get another one. As a matter of fact, I'll try to go in the next week or two, while they are blooming. Then we'll definitely get the right one.
