Thanks all for your comments.
This plant is grown outdoors with the rest of my cattleyas under 50% shade. The prismatocarpa like most of my orchids is grown in orchid bark with some perlite in a plastic pot. I water my adult plants about twice per week. All my plants are fertilized weekly all year round with a weak solution (about 1/2 teaspoon per gallon) of foliar fertilizer. I use the Michigan State University formula fertilizer 13-3-15. The average temperature is my area is in the mid 80s . The temperature rarely goes above 90 degrees and below 70 degrees. The plant has very little fragrance.
Good luck on your flask. The blooms will be something to look forward to.

Wow what a beautiful bouquet. I hope you were able to have taken to be judged. It surely would be awarded. I love the Hawaiian weather, it's no wonder they do so well. Congrats!

Hi Don. According to the description in OrchidWiz, the mother plant had 23 inflorescences and over 1000 flowers when it received its Award of Merit in June 2003. I have a long ways to go to get it to 23 inflorescences. It must have been spectacular.
