But . . . since you mentioned you love the odor of C. percivilliana (I have a bad sense of smell, so I can't really enjoy most scented orchids) . . .
Smell this one for me !

Ed, I maybe made some poor use of the English because... well, percivaliana's fragrance is repulsive to me (as is for many others). I was re-reading my post and now I realize that that 'but' should not be there! Sorry! In fact, I don't like percivaliana's fragrance!

Ed, you're not being fair with Mauro. Mauro is showing an excelent plant with only ONE flower, but you are diminishing what he has achieved by bringing a picture of a superb speciment. I hope that would be the first flower of hundreds to come in the near future Mauro .

percivilliana is certainly one of the more unique Catt fragrances, no two doubts about that...! I've always considered it "spicy", and an interesting change to the sweeter hybrid's perfumes, but by no means is it savored by anyone I know...!

Mauro,
No, I think the error was mine. Sorry I misinterpreted what you were saying. Now I suppose I'm glad I can't smell mine.
Anyway, thanks again for all of your excellent posts on the board.

For me, it is! But, you know, as olfactive perceptions are something very personal, you needed to smell one of them to decide for yourself!

Both are in 4 inch pots, so they may be a ways from flowering yet. I picked up the 'Summit' for $6 over the weekend, but spent considerably more for the 'Alberts'. The sale I attended on the weekend, was a sale from someone who donated thier entire orchid collection, to the local Orchid Species Preservation Society up here, all 10000 plants. I picked up 20 chids for $190, most of them are awarded Cattleya's.
