Thanks Tom!

I don't have one of these in my collection...yet.

Thanks Tom - it's a real looker. You can put me in the group that didn't know these could present with a bit of purple.

A small division of one of these just followed me home last night - any pointers on culture? How do you grow yours? It's my first Brassavola - so any pointers would be a great help.

Thanks and good growing.

Very nice! We call them Lady of the Night because they are only fragrant at night!

This one is wonderful: how long does it take for a seedling which has 2.5" long leaves to flower?

My plant is on hard-wood mount. I grow it reasonable bright(~2500FC), water it about 3X per week during the warmer months, 1-2X per week during the winter months. Humidity is good in general. This is a warm/intermediate grower.

@ Lars, I don't know the answer. You seedling "may" take a little while to bloom. I bought mine as a blooming size plant, and the leaves are 2 feet long. I hope a first time bloomer should be smaller than that though.

For others, Oak Hill Gardens has this species available now.

Wow! Stunning. Thanks for the info and thanks for the updated pics. I'd be curious to know if anyone grows these in pots/baskets or if they're always mounted.

The bras. division that followed me home is in a small 3" pot with sphag and I was wondering if I should attempt to mount the little guy.

Would love to get your thoughts as you clearly are doing well with yours. She is a beauty!
