Very pretty. I don't have any luck with Encyclias or Bulbos. To achieve the proper lighting I suspended mine from trees in the back yard. It only took a matter of days before the squirrels devoured them. Maybe I should get a cat.

This one is very special to me

I was thinking about it today and realized that the lady I mentioned in my story, the one who gave us the name as soon as we walked in...her name is Garnet and I am happy now to call her a friend

Another funny Sue/Orchids story also includes my friend Garnet...

at that first meeting, I was walking around in awe and asking questions of everybody there Well, one of the questions that I asked Garnet was "how many do you have? to which she answered "around 500 or so"...I was flabbergasted! 500???
I remember coming home and the first thing I told John about the meeting was that I met a nice lady who must be a little nuts...she owns 500 orchids! Can you believe that? Unbelievable!

Don't worry, honey, I'LL never have THAT many!

I didn't realize till today how big a part Garnet played in my obsession!

Thanks Garnet, if you ever read this

Anyways it better do something soon or it'll find its bulbs on the bbq this summer

Good growing, Sue

Susanne, this is also one of my first plants. Mine is spiking but no open flowers yet. I can't get enough of the smell. I describe it as spicy.

I keep reasuring my hubby that 'it could be a lot worse, there are people on Orchid Board with hundreds'.

I think that both he and I know that it's only a matter of time before I'm the same.
