everyboy !!!! I just to share with you guys the cattleyas that I've got in bud/bloom right now. As you can see out of the 5 only 2 are fully open. The pictures are in the following order:
- Bl. Yellow Bird
- Blc. Keowee 'Newberry'
- Blc. Crowfield 'Mendenhall'
- C. Hawaiian Wedding Song 'Virgin'
- NOID yellow - It has another sheat with buds developing.
These are the last ones. I will take more when the last 3 are fully opened and stay tuned as I've got about 5 more cattleyas and some oncidiums in bud and spike as well
what is your secret?, and where do you live? do you grow outdoors, I cannot get my cats to bloom but they all look healthy Help
My orchids are all outside and the only protection from the sun rays is the avocato tree. They do get a lot of sun and I mean midday sun in some of them. I fertilize every 15 days or so and in the meantime there are time release pellets on the medium. I live down here in Miami, Florida. Now with the heat I try to water them daily in the early morning if it rains then not but it seems to keep them happy and blooming.
