Hey Royal...nice growing as usual. I agree with Nenella and how symetrically perfect it looks, and it does appearr to be "in the trees" too badd they gotta come in.

Yeah, if you connected the tips of all the flower parts it's darn near a perfect circle. I love the double keeled callus in the lip and the two "horns" on the lip (hence the name).

Becca, They get pretty big. They are ant hosts like the Myrmecophylia (or however it's spelled). The old leafless p-bulbs on this one are as tall as 10-14 inches. The baby I sent you is from Troy Meyers, this one is from Andy's. Maybe they'll be a bit different?

Nenella, You may have heard of it, or it's hybrids. It's one of those with an identity crisis. Used to Be Diacrum bicronutum, and was used to make many pastel Dialaelia hybrids and eventually - Iwangara Apple Blossom.

Love this - I have the primary with laelia albida (dialaelia snowflake) and it's a favorite, but I've been looking for this species for a while. Beautiful blooms!

Royal I thought it was you I got the seedling from I'm surprised I haven't killed it yet, it seems to be doing pretty well so far! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi Royal,
As others have pointed out, it is a beauty...I can see why you refer to it as your "Holy Grail".

Thanks for expanding my knowledge of yet another species I've not heard about before...now, how many does that make?

I'm almost 4 yrs late and Nenella took the exact words from my mouth...I am from Trinidad and Tobago in the xaribbean where C.bicornutum is native along our coasts and even central parts of the islands..escaped from gardens no doubt...and as far as shapes go that is an AM/AOS right there...wow u really have a gem it caught my eye..could see why you use it for breeding..jus for fun our island has one plant found with pink suffusion and blush in the petals ,sepals and lip..if u google search you will see it on images...after about 12 years of selective breeding some offspring now begin to show the pink but the shape isn't as good...
