Default Rupicolous Laelias--My Little Lovelies :)

I've been intrigued by Rupicolous Laelias for a while now and I've been buying them slowly. I pre-ordered some from Bela Vista and Floralia @ the Redlands....I think it's time I showed my ittie bitties to you fabulous people.

Yes, some of you may say, "they all look the same," but to their Mama, they have individual personalities. I think some of them are in sheath, but I'm not sure.

I have 3 tray-fulls of mini-mini's plus some medium sized. I'll be posting the pics as I take them, since they are many. (Ugh, I have to inventory.....but later)

They are currently in 2" clay pots to give you an idea how big (or not) they are. Here are my Brazilians!! Enjoy and your comments are welcome.

--This is a new primary hybrid by Bela Vista. It's called Laelia (pfisteri x bahiense):

--This is Laelia caulescens. I think it may be in sheath, but IDK? Your thoughts?

--This is Laelia caulescens var. alba. I purchased this one earlier in the year. It's grown quite a bit and just keeps growing:

--This is Laelia ghillanyi, brought to you by Floralia:

--My little Laelia kleberi:

--Next up is Laelia lilliputana. I joke with my Latin friends that this is my ho' because well, in Spanish puta is well, you know........!! (Maria has a potty mouth)I have 3 of these....I don't know why, but I do:

--Coming down the runway is Laelia pfisteri:

--Next up is the queen of Rupicolous Laelias, Laelia reginae#1 (I have two of these as well. Again, I have no idea why):

I still have about 15 more to collect. I wish there was a definitive list of Rupics, but I haven't found one. If you have, I'll love you forever if you were to share it with me.

Enjoy peeps.

The rupicolous laelias form the Parviflorae section of the Laelia species. This section has always been rather well defined and distinct. Recent DNA studies have changed the defintion of this group to be based more on morphology and created a new Taxa, Hoffmannsegella instead placing this group in Laelia or Sophronitis.
