I cannot speak for the ones that came from St. Thomas, but the psychilis macconnelliae that we have on Anegada are all colored identically. However, interestingly, some of them have scent and some do not.

Here are some more of them in the wild:





I have been told that we have 5 species of orchids in the wild on the island. Thus far, I have found only 3 of them. Here are pics of the other two:

I just shot a few new pics (OK, my wife shot the first one). I had to move the plants out of the greenhouse to get the shots. Look at the length of these spikes! (Notice the ones over my head!)



Here are a couple of shots of the new blooms (it is very hot here in Texas now, but I cannot bring myself to water more than once a week):







These are the roots.



If anyone has any suggestions for helping my plants, I am all all ears. I freely admit that I know little about orchids - but I am proud to have nursed these for six years into blooming plats.
