Default Encyclia Cordigera

I like this spring flowering species with it's pleasant smell. I have had this plant for a long time and it remains compact. Seems that it has produced two flowering pseudobulbs for years. The old ones become leafless like small eggs in tight clusters so you don't have to contend with an overgrown plant.

Great job on that one, Jerry! What medium are you using? I managed to kill my cordigera and still have no idea what I did wrong!

Shirley, although it has fairly thin roots, I still use a medium grade bark. It hangs high in a clay pot and gets watered once per week so it is very dry when watered. I almost killed Encyclia alata 'barbara' from wet feet but it recovered well when transferred from a plastic pot to a basket. Hope this helps.
