Hawkinsara (Cattleytonia) Koolau Sunset 'Hawaii' AM/AOS
This is a first bloom seedling and it is a plant that I got from Hauserman's Orchids two years ago. The cross is C. Mae Hawkins x Ctna. Keith Roth.
It is one of those very difficult burgandy colors to capture so, after a half dozen pictures I came fairly close. The actual color is that of dark burgandy wine. The flowers are three and one half inches.

It's beautiful Jerry! I've been wanting one of these for a while now. I already have a lot of red flowers though so have been holding off. Limited space and all...

Quiltergal, this is a very easy plant to accomodate. The leaves and bulbs are about nine inches tall and it is a very compact grower. One pseudobulb is formed off the prior one with no visible rhizome so they, in essence, just stack up. I have grown it in a four inch pot for two years and the four inch pot will be suitable for another two years. The size must be influenced by the Cattleytonia in the background.
