Cattleya eldorado var. semi-alba pincelada
I am a fan of eldorados. I see that this species is not cultivated outside my country, and even here it has a presence that only now has been increasing a little. Most of the times it is said that this flower doesn’t have a place on the benches' collectors due to its poor shaped flowers and also because it would not be a good parent in hybridization. Could be. But, I really don't mind whether they are or not good shaped in the orchid collectors sense. The fact is that it has its own and unique characteristics, its own beauty. And several variations too, which always makes collectors joy.
The second photo is of a flower, which opened last December, just to illustrate that the species clearly demonstrates potential for good flowers.

I'm with you, Mauro, I really like these lovely things. I've seen them offered several times here in the US, but have held off getting one, as I am really out of room, but maybe I could squeeze one more in, if they don't get too out of controll.

Wow, that is a really interesting photo comparison!! The current photos are spectacular - obviously you've been growing it well! There is so much more vibrancy in the colors of the petals and the lip...maybe it just had to mature a little bit? Regardless, its spectacular - I think it looks really natural and beautiful, moreso than some of the rounder cattleyas we see today. Its like a painting!

Mauro do both of those blooms belong to the same plant- if so Im FLOORED!
I think ElDorado is very beautiful and yes it seems to be very rare and near impossible to find, with regards to difficulty has this one been a challenge for you, anything specific you do/do not do?
If I remember clearly someone told me C. ElDorado, C. Violacea and L. Jongheana are three challengers in growing

I think it's a beauty and would add to my collection if I had the chance. I really like the well defined colors in the lip. Very clear not muted.
