Default NOID Epi Reed-stem
I took a small division from my MIL's plant when I repotted it for her...after a long adjustment period, it has finally started blooming!

She calls hers the "geranium orchid" and believe me when I say it is ALWAYS blooming!

Oh WOW I love that one! It looks like a yellow bird or butterfly on the flower......maybe just my imagination?

Very nice!

Reed orchids were my first foray into orchids. Bloody weeds! After giving cuttings and plants away to practically everyone I knew, I finally threw them out just 'cause I got tired of them. The only time in about ten years they weren't blooming was when I hit them pretty hard with an insecticide to get rid of the scale they picked up from outside.

Now I wish I had kept at least a few cuttings to grow S/H.

Beautiful! I love the red and yellow! The shape of the lip is just wonderful!

I have a NOID reed epi that I just knocked the top off of!

Luckily it had just started growing a new can from the base a few days earlier, but now it will be even LONGER before I get to see it bloom and finally find out what color the flowers are!

It doesn't seem to branch or form keikis higher up on the plant, at least not at this stage of maturity, so now I have to wait for the new cane to grow!

Evan, I have broken the flower head off of one of mine twice in the last 2 months! Each time that plant sucked it up and tried again. This will be the third try on the same cane. It's about to open so I'm being vewy vewy careful. Yours will probably do the same thing. Watch for it, you'll be surprised at how quickly it sends a new one up.

I am very fond of the Reed Stem Epidendrums and have about a dozen different colors from miniature to giants but this one is my favorite.

Jerry, please tell me about your mini. I have never seen a mature one that is a mini.
