growing question
Default growing question

I purchased 5 pee wee plants yesterday at an orchid show. They are all different catts. I think. They vary in size, but the biggest is 8 inches otall or so and the smallest is 2 inches. I put them all in a 6 inch container thinking as they grow they would make a nice arrangment when they bloom. My question is, will the plants be compatable as they grow, is this crowding them? The tags on the plants are :

Bc. Star Ruby 'Kirsch' AM
Pot. Haw Yuan Gold 'Y2k'
L. Pupurata Rex V coerulea
C trutlata x C Bicolor
SLC.HSIN BUU LADY 'Y.T.'

Thanks

Crowding your Cattleya seedlings is not the problem. The reason that I would caution you against putting all your recently acquired plants into one pot is that no matter which they are - species or hybrids - they will NOT have the same cultural requirements. This will lead to all manor of difficulties and the eventual loss of at a minimum some of your orchids. Even within the genus Cattleyas have significantly different requirements in terms of max and minimum temps, rest periods, light levels and potting mediums just to name a few. You will be much better off doing some investigation into each plants needs and potting each one in a separate container.

:iagree:
Always keep different plants separate. You can keep them in their separate pots but place each pot within a larger container and then cover the container with some fake moss or something to give the illusion that they are all together though.

Thanks for the suggestions isurus79 & fisx.

I repotted the plants. I also acquired 2 other little Pot. and a little Encyclia. So I've only got a couple of years to wait!
