broke my catt luteola...can the older growth be saved?

I was trying to repot my luteola and I heard that dreaded "snap"........I broke it in half

the newest growth is potted up and is fine, but there are about 4 very small pseudo bulbs together with NO roots....can it be saved by sphag and bag????

If they are the small, immature backbulbs from when the plant was immature, I would just toss 'em. If they are viable back bulbs though, I dont see why spag n bag would not work.

I agree with Steve. You will probably have a large enough main plant to divide before the smaller backbulbs are large enough to bloom---if you can save it. Besides, most orchids are not that expensive that it is worth waiting years for blooms on a duplicate or anything other than something really new or unique. It is hard to just toss stuff like that, but it won't be so difficult once "orchid growing space" becomes an issue.
