Default Cattleya percivaliana

This is flowering for the first time for me, a very pleasant surprise for the good shape and the lip pattern. This seedling is a cross between the clones 'Summit' and 'Karen Graff'.

Well, Three dots_Three dots, I wouldn't say that...!! It stinks!!! Percivaliana is the only Cattleya which stinks instead of being fragrant!

... but it looks so pretty lol ! Thanks for the orchid fact. This is the only stinky cat? Are do any hybrids retain the 'fragrance' as well?

Mauro,
That is one nice percivaliana!

I have never seen one with such wide petals and so round and flat before.

Bravo!!!

To my nose the pointer would easily be between 6 and 7, Gloria!! But the 'perfume' varies alot. In some clones it really is something that keeps you off the flower, in some others it is tolerable, just tolerable!

LOL, Oh no, I was kinda hoping for 2 to 3 stinky level (if I had to actually have one)
The 6 to 7 really blows the stink factor out of the water for me.
I've got a hybird of this comming in a couple of weeks, if the Stink O meter goes off, its going to live at you're house Mauro
